In booking a course and paying a deposit you agree to abide by the following terms and conditions, in accepting your booking and deposit, I agree to the following conditions:
It is your responsibility to arrive on time, at the appointed place. I have to ensure the needs of the rest of the group are met and so we will set off promptly, at the agreed time. No refunds will be made for late comers who fail to join the group whatever the reason for this. That said - I will make very effort to provide an update and driving directions to latecomers by phone if mobile signals are available. Should this be the case, you are entirely reliant upon your own transport for the day. No refunds or partial refunds are available due to late arrival and I accept no liability for any loss or additional expense caused by delay or interruption to travel services through weather conditions, civil disturbance, industrial action, floods, or sickness.
Clothing: Depending on the location, the weather can change in a matter of minutes. Appropriate footware and clothing should be worn/carried to ensure your warmth and safety under foot. You must bring sufficient food and drink for your needs, during a day in the field. The 'What to bring' page provides a suggested, but by no means exhaustive list.
You are unconditionally responsible for your own safety and must not act in such a manner as to jeopardise the safety of others attending the workshop. Landscape photography is not generally considered a dangerous activity and all of the courses should be perfectly safe. The paths we tread are recognised marked walks, but they do involve a reasonable fitness requirement on your part. Some of the course days are strenuous and this is mentioned on the website. Wherever this is the case – it is your responsibility to understand this and ensure your fitness before booking. When we walk higher in the mountains, there may be steep paths and nearby precipices and you should be aware of this and take every care not to endanger yourself, or any other member of the group. If you have any questions – please email.
Should you have any special mobility needs, please let me know and I will ensure the routes we use are compatible with your requirements, wherever possible. Please email with your information. In the unlikely event of illness or accident befalling a member, or members of the group, my concern will be to ensure that their essential needs are catered for. Should this result in the delay, alteration or curtailment of the planned day, I cannot be held responsible for rescheduling or any compensation to the other members of the group.
Equipment: You are responsible for the safety of your equipment, vehicle, possessions and for any equipment I may loan to you. If loaned equipment is lost or damaged, you agree to pay for new replacement(s)
Places are reserved with a non-refundable deposit amounting to 50% of the total fee*. The final balance is due 14 days before the course date. No fees will be refundable after the balance has been paid, as other people may have been turned away if the course was fully booked.
It is highly advisable to take out personal insurance to cover all the above. Ensure you have insurance cover against personal accident (including recovery), illness, loss of personal possessions and equipment damage and or loss.
Should I have to cancel, postpone or curtail due to illness, unforeseen circumstance, or any other reason, all monies paid (or percentage thereof – should the course be underway) will be refunded, or alternative dates offered. The choice will be yours.
Courses will go ahead at the appointed time and date regardless of the weather, unless I feel it will be so bad as to be impractical. I will be checking the weather forecast in advance and will make my decision based upon this and my experience of the location. This decision is entirely mine and mine alone and I will notify course members of cancellation as soon as possible.
In this event, course days will be re-scheduled, assuming there are available dates and you wish to do so. Alternatively, a refund (minus the initial booking fee) will be offered, as the full limit of my liability. If on location already, should the weather deteriorate to such an extent that photography is impractical, we will then look for a suitable place (café, pub or hotel) to continue our day, reviewing images/software on a laptop. This decision will be made in consultation with the members of the group, although I retain the casting vote. I accept no further liability for any loss or additional expense caused by delay, interruption, or cancellation due to weather conditions.
Reservations may only be made by those over 18 years of age and I reserve the right to refuse a booking, without explanation. I also reserve the right to change a proposed itinerary, due to time of year, weather, group size, or for whatever reason I may see fit.
Now that's the legalease over and we can all look forward to some fantastic photography days!
